I've learned a handful of things. I learned an open mind and heart as well as communication are key to building relationships with families. In early education, such as the classroom I had the pleasure to experience practicum in, relationships with children are curriculum. Families know their children best, taking time to ask questions to get to know their child more and understand where their family may need more support.
